The Northern Quarter of Manchester is full of hipsters & this specialist beer shop is no exception (disclaimer: I have a goatee beard, but have done since for about 20 years, but I am in no way cool).
It's only a small shop off the main roads of Manchester city centre, but well worth searching out. Every horizontal space is filled with bottles of beer. There are more beers that I've never heard of here than I've ever seen in one place & loads of beers I've only read about. Absolutely nothing is run-of-the-mill & ordinary here. It's been said that it's a little pricey, but mostly those people are used to the perma-offer beers brought by the slab at supermarkets.
There were some old favourites here (Port Brewing Wipeout IPA & Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus), but just a little beyond my budget right now. I settled for Imperial Black & Black Rocks both from the Buxton Brewery & both Black IPAs. Jolly fine stuff too.
Friendly staff too.
