Just off Main Street in the town centre & at the end of the Bitter Beck, this pub is well worth a visit. Their own branded beers are perfectly adequate & there is always a guest ale from someone you've heard of. However the bottles are the draw to this pub. The beer menu on the tables isn't really worth looking at as its more than a little out of date, however just look over the bar at the fridge & choose from Thornbridge, Chimay, Kwak, Sierra Nevada, Sam Smith's & The Kernel.
The food is pub grub, but done well. The staff are friendly & happy to serve you.
Like many Cockermouth pubs there is almost no phone signal due to poor local reception coupled with thick stone walls & the pub being between high ground. You can be fairly certain nobody is cheating at the Tuesday night pub quiz though.
