A copper-chestnut brown ale true to the traditional Scottish 80/- style. Malty aroma not masked by hops, nor for that matter the taste - a very low hopped beer. Full bodied like there is plenty of crystal malt in this beer & a light sweetness, but not at all cloying or over powering. A gentle roasty, toasty flavour.
DM's verdict - I really like intense beers - whether a New World IPA or a bitter coffee stout - but I enjoyed this true-to-style subtle, malty beer.
